Vespasian, 69-79. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.28 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in Spain, circa 69-70. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG Laureate head of Vespasian to left. Rev. VICTORIA IMP VESPASIANI Victory flying to left, holding wreath in right hand and palm over her left shoulder. BMC -, cf. 362 (with globe). Cohen -, cf. 630 (with globe). RIC -, cf. 1340 (with globe). Apparently unpublished and unique. Harshly cleaned and with a flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.

This coin is among the earliest Western mintings of Vespasian. The portrait still closely resembles the later images of Nero.
